Content Generation Overview

Generate images, videos, and copy using AI

Content Generation Overview

TractionDesk's content generation capabilities leverage the latest AI models from OpenAI and Google to create professional marketing materials in seconds. Whether you need social media images, product videos, blog posts, or email copy, the platform can generate high-quality content that matches your brand standards. All content generation is driven by presets (reusable templates defining style and tone) and prompts (specific content requests), which combine to produce exactly what you need without starting from scratch each time.

The content generation system operates on a credit-based model where different asset types consume different amounts of credits. Images cost 5 credits each, videos cost 20 credits, and copy costs 2 credits. These costs reflect the computational resources required for generation—videos are more expensive because they involve multiple frames of image generation and complex processing. Your monthly plan includes a credit allocation, and you can purchase additional credit packs when needed. The platform always shows the credit cost before generation so you can make informed decisions about what to create.

Content Types Supported

TractionDesk supports three primary content types, each powered by state-of-the-art AI models:

Images are generated using OpenAI's DALL-E model, which creates photorealistic or stylized images from text descriptions. You can generate product mockups, lifestyle scenes, abstract concepts, social media graphics, and more. Images support various aspect ratios and styles, from professional photography to illustrative art. Generation typically takes 10-15 seconds per image.

Videos use either OpenAI's Sora 2 model (default) or Google's Veo 3 model to create short video clips from text prompts. Supported durations range from 5 to 10 seconds, with aspect ratios including 16:9 (landscape), 9:16 (portrait), and 1:1 (square) for different platforms. Videos can feature product demonstrations, animated concepts, or motion graphics. Generation takes 60-120 seconds depending on complexity and model.

Copy utilizes GPT-4, GPT-4o, or GPT-5 (depending on your plan) to write marketing text in any format: social media posts, blog articles, email sequences, ad copy, headlines, product descriptions, and more. The AI can match specific tones (professional, casual, humorous, authoritative) and formats (bullet points, narratives, listicles). Copy generation is the fastest content type, typically completing in 10-20 seconds.

Presets and Prompts

The preset and prompt system is what makes TractionDesk's content generation so powerful and efficient. A preset is a reusable template that defines the overall style, tone, or approach for a content type. For images, a preset might specify "minimalist product photography with neutral backgrounds and soft lighting." For copy, a preset might define "friendly, conversational tone using second-person perspective and short sentences." Once you create a preset, you can use it repeatedly for consistent output.

A prompt is a specific content request within a preset's style. For example, using your "Product Photography" preset, you might have prompts like "wireless headphones on desk," "smartphone in hand," or "laptop with coffee." The combination of preset (consistent style) plus prompt (specific content) gives you both brand consistency and content variety. You can mix and match any preset with any prompt for maximum flexibility.

Creating effective presets requires some experimentation. Start with detailed instructions about what you want, generate a few samples, and refine based on results. Over time, you'll build a library of presets that perfectly capture your brand aesthetic and voice. Advanced users create preset variations for different campaigns, seasons, or product lines—"Summer Campaign Visuals," "Holiday Email Voice," "B2B Thought Leadership Tone"—giving them maximum control over generated content.

Direct Generation vs Scheduled Generation

TractionDesk supports two modes of content generation: direct and scheduled. Direct generation happens immediately when you click "Generate" or use a voice command—the AI creates the content right away and displays results within seconds. This is ideal for one-off needs, testing presets, or when you need content urgently. Direct generation gives you immediate feedback so you can iterate quickly if the first result isn't quite right.

Scheduled generation creates content automatically at future times or on recurring schedules. For example, you might schedule "Generate 3 social posts every Monday at 9am" or "Create a new product image every Friday." Scheduled generation runs in the background using TractionDesk's job queue system, so you don't need to be logged in or actively using the platform. Results are saved to your account and you can review them whenever convenient. Scheduling is perfect for maintaining a consistent content cadence without manual effort.

The choice between direct and scheduled generation depends on your workflow. Content creators who need immediate results for active campaigns prefer direct generation. Busy founders who want automated content production use scheduling to keep their marketing engine running even when they're focused elsewhere. You can combine both approaches—directly generate content when you need it urgently, and schedule recurring content to fill gaps in your calendar.

Quality and Iteration

AI-generated content is usually high quality but may occasionally require regeneration to get exactly what you want. If an image doesn't match your vision, simply generate again—each generation uses a different random seed, producing a different result even with identical prompts. For copy that's close but not perfect, you can edit the generated text directly in the platform or regenerate with modified prompt instructions.

The platform tracks all generated content in your asset library, so nothing is lost even if you regenerate. This allows you to compare multiple versions and choose the best one. Power users often generate 3-5 variations of important assets (like campaign hero images or email subject lines) and select the strongest performer based on aesthetic preference or A/B testing results.
